Trump insists that Gaza will be handed over to the US after the end of the conflict

The Palestinians... will have already relocated to much safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, the US president said

Newsroom February 6 04:00

U.S. President Donald Trump stated Thursday that Israel will transfer control of the Gaza Strip to the United States once the ongoing conflict concludes, emphasizing that no U.S. troops will be needed in the region.

“The Gaza Strip will be handed over to the United States by Israel after the end of the conflict. The Palestinians… will have already relocated to much safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the area,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, continuing his controversial remarks on Gaza’s future. “They will not need soldiers from the United States,” he added.

Rubio: Relocation of Gazans Will Be “Temporary”

Earlier, U.S. Foreign Minister Marco Rubio had assured that any relocation of Palestinians would be temporary—a detail that Trump did not mention in his statement.

Rubio’s remarks followed Trump’s suggestion that the U.S. could “occupy” Gaza and resettle its millions of Palestinian residents elsewhere. The idea has been met with strong criticism from the United Nations, European nations, human rights organizations, and Arab leaders.
