Androulakis attacks the government for the tragedy of Tempi: “They are capable of anything in the face of the fear of losing power”

PASOK's leader reiterated his decision to submit a motion of no confidence against the government when the findings on the tragedy of Tempi are completed

Newsroom February 13 08:26

The view that the two new videos do not reveal the reasons for the explosion after the two-car trains collided at Tempi contends Nikos Androulakis, accusing the government that “it is to blame for not knowing the causes of the ignition.”

Speaking recently on Alpha and Antonis Sroiter, the PASOK leader stressed the two words “cover-up” and “orchestrator” and claimed, referring to the government and the prime minister, that “they are capable of anything in the face of the fear of losing power.”

Androulakis also referred to the evidence that PASOK included in the request for the establishment of a preliminary committee for Mr. Triantaopoulos, reiterated his decision to file a proposal of no confidence against the government when the findings on the Tempi tragedy are completed, refrained from commenting on the move to sue the appellate investigator by the parents of the victims and said that his confidence in justice has been shaken.

“And the judges are judged; justice will be judged,” he stressed, and announced renewed initiatives to change the way the leadership of the Justice is selected, not to take public office after judges retire for four years, and to change the law on the responsibility of ministers so that when cases like Karamanlis’ arise, he said, they are taken to the natural judge.

Androulakis made a fierce attack on the government accusing PASOK of instrumentalizing the Tempi tragedy: “PASOK has an institutional attitude, seriousness and moderation. Is it possible to blame PASOK? They have lost their temper.” Mr. Tasoulas said that he should have announced the supplementary file from the floor of the plenary session and added “Now he is the President of the Republic and I respect the institutions”. On the non-state universities and the coming of an annex from the Sorbonne universities, he finally said that “it is a dismal failure” since “the Sorbonne that is coming is 44th in the ranking.”

Will he call for elections by tabling a motion of no confidence? “I am not calling for an election now. I have a different culture. The government has to change to reduce the inequalities that plague the people,” Androulakis said.
