Intense activity at Etna volcano, in Sicily, has been going on since early this week, with the combination of rising lava and snow-covered slopes creating stunning images.
According to observations, emissions of lava and ash from the volcano increased Monday night, mostly from summit craters such as Bocca Nuova.
It should be noted that Mount Etna is the most active volcano in continental Europe (its height reaches 3,350 meters) and just over 30 centimeters of snow has fallen in recent days, with more expected over the weekend.
Italian media are reporting that there is no cause for concern, with Sicilian authorities closely monitoring the situation.
