The prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Georgia Adilini, has ordered an urgent preliminary investigation by the Head of the Larissa First Instance Prosecutor’s Office to determine the cause of death of Vassilis Kalogirou.
In fact, Mrs. Adilini is asking for Sofia Apostolaki to be called to testify, “who has publicly suggested criminal activity against her son,” as well as other family members.
The order reads as follows:
“Please urgently conduct a preliminary investigation to determine the cause of death of Vassilis Kalogirou, providing the necessary directions, as you see fit, to the police authorities already handling the matter and conducting the preliminary investigation ex officio.
As part of this, you should personally take a deposition from Mrs. Sofia Apostolaki, who has publicly raised suspicions of a criminal act against her son, so that she can name the person or persons she holds responsible, providing any relevant evidence. Also, examine the father and the uncle of the deceased. Please inform us accordingly.”
The mother of the 39-year-old spoke of a crime
It is recalled that shortly after the mother of 39-year-old Vassilis Kalogirou identified his clothes on the body found on Monday afternoon, February 17th, on a hill in Tyrnavos, she made a post on Facebook in which she hinted at a criminal act.
The post by the Head Prosecutor of the Appeals Court of Larissa:
“Cheers! I am Vassilis, the one you were looking for. By the grace of God, I have found Paradise and I see Christ, whom I love so much. You, who threw me into the mountains with the wild animals and your malicious boss, I wonder, what kind of end will you have?”

Vassilis Kalogirou’s uncle: “They cut the thread of your life, you lawless ones”
On his part, Vassilis Kalogirou’s uncle, Giorgos Apostolakis, in his eulogy during the 39-year-old’s funeral, implied murder, as the family believes it wasn’t suicide but rather a criminal act.
“They violently and brutally cut the thread of your life with lawless hands, hands ordered by other lawless ones. The forensic experts told us that the most likely way your life was taken was through asphyxiation, perhaps strangulation. And this, 3-4 days after your disappearance. And I imagine you, Vassilis, asking for oxygen and air, just like the children from the bloodstained train of Tempi, to stay alive,” he said in the eulogy.
