The dramatic moments that unfolded at the tourist resort of Hurghada on Egypt‘s Red Sea coast with six people losing their lives when a tourist submarine sank has been recorded by a passenger.

The video shows the tourist submarine “Sindbad” gradually becoming covered in water with those on deck trying to get ashore before the submarine sank completely with screams of agony clearly audible in the final seconds.

A passenger who managed to survive described that the submarine began to sink while the entry doors were open.

“I was with my family at the pier and we were about to enter the submarine when it started to sink while the doors were still open. The person in charge of boarding started shouting ‘stop, stop’ and started pushing us towards the pier,” he described, speaking to Russian media.
