Brutal beating of businessman in Glyfada over collapsed deal with Israeli partner

The Greek businessman is hospitalized with serious facial injuries – The meeting at a restaurant and the violent attack by 4–5 individuals

Newsroom April 29 12:55

Scenes reminiscent of a crime thriller unfolded on Monday night in Glyfada, with the victim being one of the first entrepreneurs in Greece involved in the solar energy sector. The Greek businessman had co-founded a company with an Israeli partner, but for reasons still unknown, their collaboration fell apart. To resolve their differences, the Israeli businessman arranged a meeting at a well-known Cretan cuisine restaurant in Glyfada.

The Greek man’s lawyers had advised him not to attend the meeting alone and to let them handle the matter. However, ignoring their advice, he chose to go on his own. Shortly after his arrival, four to five individuals appeared and, without giving him a chance to react, violently assaulted him. They then forced him—under physical threat and duress—to sign over the company to the Israeli businessman.

The Greek entrepreneur, suffering serious facial injuries, was taken to a hospital where he remains under care. Following the incident, he filed a formal complaint first at the Glyfada Police Department and later with the Attica Security Division, as the case was deemed particularly serious.

According to information from protothema.gr, authorities are investigating the possibility that more individuals were involved in the orchestrated attack, with the investigation ongoing.
