In a conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Volodymyr Zelensky stressed the need for a unified and coordinated stance towards Russia, underlining that without international pressure, there can be no just peace.
The Ukrainian president said he briefed Rutte on the latest diplomatic contacts with international partners and presented the formulas and platforms the Ukrainian side is considering to restart negotiations with Russia with a view to a possible ceasefire.
At the same time, the two leaders discussed sanctions against Moscow, with Zelensky noting that their effectiveness depends on strict coordination of decisions at the level of international institutions and governments.
The conversation included preparations for upcoming NATO meetings, and the Ukrainian president said they agreed to remain in constant communication to further coordinate joint steps.
