Samaras: Strong blow to the traditional family by the CoE decision – The government was hiding and lying

The former prime minister said in a statement that he had been warned of what would happen

Newsroom May 31 03:47

Antonis Samaras is launching a direct attack on the government following yesterday’s CoE ruling on same-sex couples. Specifically, the Plenary of the Supreme Council of State yesterday gave the green light to marriage with persons of the same sex, as first introduced by Law 5089/2024, which has the effect of extending the right of adoption to same-sex married couples.

The former prime minister said in a statement that the government was “hiding and lying” and called it a “strong blow to the traditional family.”

Antonis Samaras’ statement is detailed: “Yesterday’s decision by the CoE allowing the adoption of children by same-sex couples confirmed my views in Parliament

I had warned that this is exactly what would happen while the government was hiding and telling lies and half-truths to the Greek people. The blow to the traditional family is strong.

At a time when values and institutions are as necessary as ever for society. All the more so when the demographic problem is constantly increasing…“.
