Speaking via an official statement on the club’s website, Savvidis avoided direct reference to Mystakidis, yet conveyed his dissatisfaction with the process and reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to PAOK, especially regarding the New Toumba stadium project.
Savvidis’ full statement:
“For the past 13 years, I’ve had the honor of leading PAOK FC, always guided by a commitment to fulfill my promises.
Despite the challenges, missteps, and obstacles, and with unity as our only condition, we have achieved more than we ever imagined. And we will achieve the rest of our dreams the same way.
Yesterday’s announcement from A.S. PAOK came unjustifiably and without my knowledge. I was surprised, but I leave it to the judgment of our hundreds of thousands of members and to history.
I have never fueled division.
The path we have chosen is irreversible, and our progress will not stop.
Consensus and a clear relationship with the fans – who live and breathe for PAOK – have always been and will always be my guiding principles in making PAOK even greater in the years to come.
I pledged to bring joy back to Toumba – and I kept that promise.
I am the one who initiated, through action, the vision of the New Toumba, and I will see it to completion. If anyone wishes to join me in this endeavor, their participation is welcome.
I stand by every word I’ve ever said – that’s how I live.
That’s why I insisted the new stadium be built exclusively in Toumba, because that is where the heart of PAOK beats. And we remain on course to make that a reality.”
