The Central Archaeological Council (KAS) today declared the entire island of Polyaigos an archaeological site, in a clear move to safeguard it. The issue of Polyaigos’ protection was on the agenda of the KAS meeting, and the decision was made a short while ago, while the session continues with other matters.

At the same time, according to information, Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni is expected to proceed immediately with declaring the island a Zone A area of absolute protection, prohibiting any construction.
