On Monday night, Vassilis Spanoulis’ players threw a wild party at the bouzoukia to celebrate the bronze medal they won at EuroBasket 2025.
Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Kostas Papanikolaou, Giannoulis Larentzakis, Dimitris Katsivelis, as well as Vassilis Spanoulis and the president of the Hellenic Basketball Federation, Vaggelis Liolios, were among those at Poseidonio, celebrating to the songs of Thodoris Ferris the national team’s return to the podium after 16 years.

When the atmosphere really heated up, Giannoulis Larentzakis grabbed the microphone from Thodoris Ferris to present a new version of the hit song “Me to stoma gemato filia” (“With a mouth full of kisses”), which had become famous in the 1980s during the glory days of Aris basketball, celebrating “Galis, Giannakis, Filippou, and the other guys.”

The Olympiacos guard updated the lyrics for today, singing: “With Giannis, with Larentzakis, with Sloukas and the other guys, we start and we win, and I’ve won a medal again.”

Hearing the song, Giannis Antetokounmpo grabbed a mountain of flower baskets and showered his close friend with them.

Later, Giannis Antetokounmpo also showed off his dancing skills, performing a syrtaki alongside the federation president and Giannoulis Larentzakis.

Thodoris Ferris joined in the fun, dedicating the song “Where are you, Thanasis” to Thanasis Antetokounmpo, who ended up covered in flowers thrown at him.

Ferris also sang the symbolic chant of recent years for the national teams: “Hellas, olé olé, I’ll never stop singing.”

At one point, the coach of the “official beloved” national team, Vassilis Spanoulis, also stepped onto the stage and was showered with admiration by everyone at Poseidonio.
