Police in Crete have arrested a 23-year-old nephew of 39-year-old Fanouris Kargakis, as he is accused of being the person who placed the bomb at the home of a member of the Frangiadakis family in Vorizia — an act that led to the deadly incident in the village on November 1st.
According to reports, the 23-year-old nephew of Fanouris Kargakis — one of the two victims of the bloody clash in the village — was captured on video arriving at the house that had been a point of dispute between the Kargakis and Frangiadakis families. The driver opens the car’s trunk, takes out the bomb, and places it at the Frangiadakis residence. The bomb explodes within seconds, causing extensive damage to the house and, as it later turned out, triggering the massacre that followed the next day.
The 23-year-old is the son of a man who has already been arrested, as he was identified in the video holding Kalashnikov rifles at the time of the shooting. A warrant had been issued against him, and earlier today he was arrested in Vorizia.
