A large fire erupted around midday on Wednesday in skyscrapers in the Tai Po area of northern Hong Kong, with thick black smoke rising from the building while firefighters were working to extinguish it.
According to the public broadcaster RTHK, several people have been trapped inside, and one man has suffered severe burns, based on information cited from the police.
The Wang Fuk Court consists of eight buildings and has nearly 2,000 apartments. Around the tower where the fire broke out, there are also other buildings with exterior bamboo scaffolding.
