A new 4.8 Richter earthquake struck Skiathos shortly after 4:00 PM and was felt in the Attica region as well.
According to the automatic preliminary solution by the Geodynamic Institute of Athens, the epicenter is located 4 km north-northwest of Skiathos, at a depth of 10 km.
The president of OASP, Efthymios Lekkas, stated that the quake occurred on a well-known mapped fault.
“We will need to monitor the situation over the next few hours. Logically, it does not raise any particular concern,” he told protothema.gr.
