Athens Stock Exchange opens with slight gains

It opened with nearly a 1% rise

The Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) opened with slight gains on Friday. The general index was rose by 0.92 per cent, standing at 685 points, recording turnover of 4.15 million euros.

The FTSE/ASE Large Cap index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 1.12 percent and the FTSE/ASE Mid Cap index was down 0.18 percent.

On individual sector indices, the biggest gains were in Banks (+1.93 percent) and Financials (+1.43 percent). The heaviest losses were in Technology (-1.05 percent) and Oil (-1.19 per cent).

Of the stocks traded, 29 were up, 12 were down and 8 were unchanged.
