The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, launched a fierce attack against the West today from Vladivostok while praising the Asian continent. “The West has failed, the future is in Asia,” said Putin, as reported by Reuters.

The Russian President also warned the West that it had undermined the global economy in what he described as “a futile and aggressive attempt” to impose its hegemony.

Putin added that Asia was the future calling it the rising power.

Speaking at the Eastern Forum in Vladivostok, the Russian president argued that Western sanctions are short-sighted and a danger to the entire world. He also added that the Moscow government is increasingly turning towards Asia.

Putin also claimed that the Russian economy was responding to what he called the “economic and technological aggression of the West,” acknowledging some difficulties in certain industries and regions.

He also stressed that it is impossible for his country to be isolated and that Moscow would resist any attempts to be sidelined on the global political scene.

“Russia”, as he said, “considers that there are more opportunities in entering the markets of the Middle East and Iran”.

In addition, he stated that Moscow was doing everything in its power to ensure that Ukraine could export grain.
“The problems in the global food market are likely to intensify… A humanitarian disaster is imminent,” he said.
