The weather will be generally clear today Monday and only in the east local clouds are forecast with occasional showers in the early morning hours in Thrace and until early afternoon in the eastern Aegean islands, the Dodecanese and possibly in the northern Cyclades. In eastern Central Greece, Evia and eastern Peloponnese, generally clear weather is forecast. The winds will blow west northwest 4 to 5 Beaufort, gradually shifting to north northeast 3 to 4 Beaufort from the afternoon. The temperature will range from 12 to 27 to 28 and locally up to 29 degrees Celsius.
In the Cyclades and Crete there will be a few clouds, partly cloudy with the possibility of light local rain mainly in the north and gradually from the afternoon generally clear. Winds will blow from westerly directions 3 to 5 Beaufort, gradually from noon and from the north will turn to northerly directions up to 4 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 17 to 27 degrees Celsius.
In the eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese there will be local clouds with occasional showers mainly in the north and gradually from the afternoon generally clear. Winds will be westerly southwesterly 3 to 5 Beaufort, gradually from noon and from the north will shift to north northwesterly up to 4 Beaufort. The temperature will range from up to 25 and in the south up to 28 degrees Celsius.
In Thessaly the weather will be generally clear. The winds will blow west northwest 3 to 5 Beaufort, which will gradually shift to north northeast up to 4 Beaufort from noon. The temperature will range from 12 to 27 degrees Celsius.
For Tuesday, generally clear weather is forecast, with sparse clouds mainly in the north. Visibility in the morning hours will be limited in places. Winds in the west and north will be variable 2 to 4 Beaufort. In the rest of the country, winds will blow from the north at 3 to 4 Beaufort and locally in the eastern Aegean up to 5 Beaufort. The temperature will not change significantly and will reach 24 to 26 degrees Celsius in the west and north, in the rest of the regions 26 to 28 degrees and locally in the eastern continent 29 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures will resemble summer next weekend
According to the forecast, following the “Cassandra” storm (which left one dead), temperatures expected to be recorded in areas of Greece are trending upwards rather than downwards with summer reappearing from midweek.
In fact, by Thursday, the mercury will reach 30 degrees Celsius, and by the weekend it will exceed that, hovering at higher than normal levels. And it will remain at those levels until at least next Tuesday.
