The new Centre for artificial intelligence in Greece
The creation of a pioneering centre that will act as a driving force for AI in Greece was announced today by Vassilis Kazas, Managing Director, Grant Thornton in his introductory address at the opening of the Future Unfold – What unfolds when AI meets purpose conference. The new Centre will not just be a centre for the development of technological solutions, but a reference point for pioneering and research in AI in collaboration with, among others, the largest and most reputable universities in our country, but also with important ones abroad, he added.
We are promoting our vision of a business world where artificial intelligence empowers businesses to meet the challenges of the future with confident speed and agility thus moving steadily in this direction, he said.
Kazas also announced that specialised customised solutions will be offered that meet the unique challenges and needs of each organisation. In the second half of 2025, we will also launch our first robotic advisors in the financial and energy sectors, with exceptional adaptability as the models will analyze data in real-time and continuously adapt to changing market conditions and the specific needs of each client, helping to optimize their decisions and achieve their strategic objectives, he said.
In addition to the benefits that will be created for businesses, the Centre is expected to bring the industrial sector together with the academic community and research centres in order to advance knowledge and research in areas such as machine learning. Through these partnerships we seek to leverage academic research and turn it into practical solutions that meet real market needs, he concluded his address.
