Easter Exodus: Mass departure from Attica – Over 420,000 vehicles passed through the toll stations since Holy Monday

Traffic on the national road networks has returned to normal, as the last major "wave" of Easter travelers has now left Athens

Newsroom April 18 07:52

Traffic on the Athens-Corinth National Road has eased significantly, with the final large group of Easter holidaymakers having departed from Attica.

From early morning until early afternoon, traffic was especially heavy. Vehicles were moving slowly from the Aigaleo Ring Road to the Elefsina exit, and along Athinon Avenue from Haidari to Aspropyrgos. Congestion was also reported from the Elefsina toll station up to Megara.

The situation was better on the Athens-Lamia National Road, where vehicles moved at a steady pace, with occasional minor delays at the Afidnes toll station.
