Marine Le Pen voices support for … SYRIZA

French MEP and President of the Front National declared that although “we are not political friends with the party, SYRIZA expresses the people's will and represents the interests of the Greek people"

French nationalist Front National (FN) President Marine Le Pen has stated clearly that she favors the main opposition Radical Left Coalition SYRIZA party in the upcoming Greek elections on Sunday.

She clarified that the FN’s “views differ on many issues, such as immigration from third countries into the Union,  however, she declared her support to SYRIZA, because she believes it expresses the will of the people and represents the interests of Greeks.

“A possible victory of SYRIZA will mark the country’s return to democracy,” the outspoken nationalist leader said.

“We support a victory of the left party, because it means that the Greek people will choose their fate voluntarily and not one imposed from outside interests, such as the European Central Bank, the European Union and the Troika,” she said.
