The weather is expected to be mild, with sunny skies, local clouds, and a slight temperature rise. According to EMY and meteorologists, local rain is expected only today in areas of the Aegean Sea, while meteorologist Thodoris Kolydas notes that the weather will improve over the next few days, before the change that comes next week.

From tomorrow, December 10, until Saturday, December 13, the scene is stabilizing. Generally good weather conditions are expected with sunshine, scattered clouds, and localised morning fog in some areas. Winds will remain light, with temperatures reaching 16 to 18 degrees locally during the warm daytime hours, with lower values at night, around 7 to 9 degrees.

This picture is confirmed by meteorologist Theodore Kolydas, who in a post noted: “Improved weather in most areas with north winds of 5 to 6 Beaufort and temperatures slightly above normal. Change in the weather next week with southerly winds and lots of rain.” Changes will begin to be felt early next week.

Significant rainfall in Crete on Monday, 8 December 2025

Intermittent clouds are expected in the northeast, east, and southeastern mainland, Halkidiki, Evia, Crete, and the Aegean Sea. Occasional localised showers will occur mainly in Halkidiki, Sporades, Evia, Eastern Sterea and Peloponnese, and Crete. The rest of the country will be sunny with only occasional clouds in places.

The temperature in Western Macedonia will range from -1 to 10 degrees Celsius in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 3 to 13 degrees Celsius, in Thessaly from 5 to 14, in Epirus from 3 to 14, in Sterea from 5 to 15, in the Peloponnese from 6 to 16, in the Ionian Islands from 9 to 16, in the North and East Aegean Islands from 7 to 12, in the Cyclades from 10 to 14, in the Dodecanese from 10 to 17 and in Crete from 11 to 17 degrees Celsius.

Winds in the Aegean Sea will blow from the north at 4 to 6 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea, the winds will blow from variable directions up to 3 Beaufort.

In Attica, clouds are expected at times, while occasional local rain will occur mainly in the mountains of the prefecture. Winds will blow from northern directions from 3 to 5 Beaufort. The temperature in the center of Athens will range from 11 to 15 degrees Celsius.

In the prefecture of Thessaloniki, sunshine is expected with only occasional clouds in places. The winds will blow from northern directions up to 3 Beaufort. The temperature in the center of Thessaloniki will range from 7 to 13 degrees Celsius.

The weather on Wednesday, December 10

In Crete and the Dodecanese clouds, partly cloudy with local rain in the morning hours. In the rest of the country generally clear weather with thin clouds that will gradually thicken in the east and north. Visibility will be locally limited on the mainland in the morning and evening hours.

Winds in the Ionian and the mainland will be variable 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the remaining areas will blow from northern directions 3 to 5 and in the southeastern Aegean Sea locally 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will not change significantly. It will reach 14 to 15 degrees Celsius in the northern mainland, 16 to 17 degrees Celsius in the rest of the regions and 18 degrees Celsius locally in the Ionian and western mainland and 18 to 19 degrees Celsius in the southern islands and 20 degrees Celsius locally.

Generally clear weather all over the country with occasional local clouds, except for Crete where increasing clouds are expected at times with a few light showers. Visibility will be locally limited, mainly in the western mainland, in the morning and evening hours.

Winds will blow from the north at 3 to 5 Beaufort, and in the Aegean Sea locally 6 to 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will not change significantly.

Generally clear weather throughout the country, with occasional clouds in the south. Visibility will be locally limited, mainly in the western mainland, in the morning and evening hours.

In most parts of the region, mainly in the north and southwestern parts of the country, in the early morning and early evening.
Winds will blow from the north at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the Aegean Sea locally 5 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise slightly in the west and south.
