Iran released footage showing the moment when the Navy of the Revolutionary Guards issues a warning to a U.S. destroyer that had entered the Strait of Hormuz to change course and withdraw.

“Warship 121. This is Sepah naval station. You must change course and immediately return to the Indian Ocean. If you do not comply with my order, you will be targeted,” a member of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Navy is heard telling the crew of the USS Frank E. Petersen Jr.

A member of the U.S. ship’s crew responds that the vessel is moving “in transit in accordance with international law,” while the Iranian serviceman repeats, calling it a “final warning.” At the same time, he warns nearby vessels to keep their distance from any warship in the area, saying he is ready to open fire “without any warning.”

It is noted that this destroyer, along with the USS Michael Murphy, passed through the Strait of Hormuz and moved into the Persian Gulf as part of a broader mission to ensure the passage is completely free of Iranian naval mines, as announced by U.S. Central Command (US Central Command).
