Steven Spielberg has once again sparked discussion about aliens and possible visits to Earth with his appearance in the trailer for his new film “Disclosure Day“, starring Josh O’Connor and Emily Blunt.
In the trailer released yesterday, Spielberg appears on camera saying: “It is far more likely now than when I made Close Encounters that I truly believe we are not the only intelligent civilization in the universe.”
In subsequent scenes, “Daniel Kelner,” the character played by O’Connor in the film, admits that he has stolen government secrets regarding evidence of living beings not originating from Earth.
“This is a story about us. All of us, facing the most extraordinary event in human history. I used to tell myself, wouldn’t it be wonderful if all of this were true? And now I think, wouldn’t it be wonderful for the world to know that all of this IS true?” Spielberg comments in the trailer.
His remarks did not go unnoticed, with some users saying, “the timing of this is definitely not a coincidence,” while others wrote, “why do I feel like this is a soft launch for the real disclosure day?” Another added, “this makes me feel like this is a real disclosure,” while others interpreted his words as hinting at an actual revelation.
It is worth noting that in recent times the US government has released numerous files and videos of alleged encounters with unidentified flying objects (UFOs), some of which were recorded in Greek airspace as well.
In the film, Emily Blunt plays a Kansas City TV meteorologist who is overtaken by a mysterious alien force while broadcasting a live weather forecast. Her co-star is Josh O’Connor, who plays a believer in extraterrestrial life determined to reveal the truth to the world. The cast also includes Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.
