More specifically, today, Friday, August 7, generally clear weather is forecast. After midday, clouds will develop over mainland areas, which in mountainous regions will bring temporary rain showers or thunderstorms, mainly in the northern parts.
Temperatures will reach 39 to 40 degrees Celsius in mainland Greece, 35 to 36 degrees in Crete and the Dodecanese, and 34 degrees on the Ionian islands.
Winds will blow from northern to northwestern directions. In the Ionian Sea they will be light, while in the Aegean they will locally reach 6 Beaufort.
In Attica, sunny weather is forecast, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 37 degrees Celsius. Northerly winds in the eastern parts of the region will locally reach 5 Beaufort.
In Thessaloniki, some cloud cover is expected, with the possibility of temporary showers after midday. Winds in the Thermaic Gulf will be light, and temperatures will reach 34 degrees Celsius.
On Saturday (August 8), temperatures will rise slightly further. The maximum temperature will reach 40 degrees in mainland areas, 36 degrees in Crete, and 34 to 35 degrees in the Dodecanese and the Ionian islands.
On Sunday (August 9), in some areas, the mercury may exceed the 40-degree threshold, while atmospheric instability will intensify in Epirus and Macedonia.
