After Palmyra…Damascus?

The ISIS onslaught cannot be stopped by the Syrian and Iraqi governments

Damascus will be ISIS’ next target, after half of Syria has been already taken over by the jihadist terror band.

The shocking display of barbarous intent in destroying ancient ruins across Iraqi and Syria shows that Palmyra, only recently taken, will suffer the same fate.

ISIS continues its advance without fail after taking the last border crossing between Iraq and Syria still under Bashar Assad’s control.

At the same time, US media states that the onslaught of ISIS in Syria and Iraq proves the failed strategy of the US and its coalition so far.

After Ramadi and Palmyra fell, political analysts in Washington said it’s clear that the governments of Iraq and Syria cannot control the throng of ISIS jihadists.

Meanwhile, a Reuters reports that a Turkish prosecutor gave information claiming that Turkish security officers helped distribute weapons to ISIS-held territories in Syria at the end of 2013 and up until 2014.

This seems to confirm allegations by Syrian officials that Turkey, wanting to witness the fall of the Assad regime, let weapons and fighters pass through its borders to reach ISIS hands.
