German embassy responds to Die Welt’s ‘practically ungoverned’ characterization

“We do not comment on publications which concern hypothetical internal correspondence”, says the Germany embassy

The Germany Federal Republic Embassy and Consulate in Athens issued a statement regarding Die Welt’s publication which quoting European negotiating sources and internal correspondence characterized Greece as ‘practically ungoverned’.

Due to this reaction, Germany Embassy issued a press release noting that both the Federal Government and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Athens do not comment on publications which concern hypothetical internal correspondence.

The press release refers to the recent visit of Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Athens, who praised all his interlocutors, particularly the Prime Minister, for Greek government’s efficiency on addressing the difficult challenges Greece faces, with Germany assisting in a great extent.
