Government spokesperson: “35% of PPC workers are on strike, we have already discussed in detail with them”

“We had a democratic debate and all arguments were analyzed,” said the government spokesperson

“We have made some efforts in the economic field and we will not step back now. We won’t stay and watch everything falling apart,” said government spokesperson, Sophia Voultepsi, shortly after announcing that the government proceeds to state direction of labour.

Mrs. Voultepsi told SKAI TV channel that a valuable time was lost and that the situation might become even more difficult.

“We had a democratic debate and all arguments were analyzed. No one can prevent a company, if it wants to grow,” she stressed, noting that “we have explained everything and all points were clear”.

Then she asked PPC workers to respect the decision of the Court of Athens which ruled the strike illegal and abusive.

Mrs. Voultepsi talked about a “provoked strike” and accused the main opposition party and Mr. Tsipras personally for taking advantage of the situation for political purposes.

She also said that “35% of PPC workers are on strike, we have already discussed in detail with them” and pointed out that the union could not decide on what policy a company will follow.
