Outgoing radical leftist SYRIZA party and conservative main opposition party New Democracy (ND) agreed to a televised debate between leaders Alexis Tsipras and Evangelos Meimarakis, scheduled  to be held on September 14. After initial talks between former Government spokesperson Olga Gerovassili of SYRIZA and ND representative Penelope Gavra the two parties agreed on a live TV debate between all party leaders on September 10, followed by TV ‘battle’ between Tsipras and Meimarakis 4 days later. The dates have not been finalized yet, as the political leaders of the smaller parties have not offered their consent on the September 10 debate. The debates will mark the reintroduction of such political discussions on TV since 2012. The format the debates will take has not been agreed on yet.
