Popular singer Robert Williams passed away at the age of 73.
The singer has been going through difficult times with his health lately, having by his side his three children, Alexandros, Ilenia, and Martha, as well as his wife, Amalia Dimitriadis.
His health issues started at the beginning of last March with the well-known artist, singer, and creator, finally passing away today. According to reports, the artist had pancreatic cancer.
Robert Williams was an artist who stood out and left his mark on Greek music.
From the early 1970s, he was the guitarist and singer of the rock band Poll. From 1974 he was also an active pop and rock singer. He represented Greece with three other singers in the Eurovision Song Contest 1977 and came in fifth place with the song Mathima Solfez.
His first album was released in 1974 titled “Robert Williams”. In 1976, he achieved great success with the song “Mila mou” from the album “Esy ki ego”.
In 1991 he contributed significantly to the television series “The Shining” by Nikos Foskolos, for which he wrote the music and lyrics for several songs, the most important of which is the opening song entitled ” Mes in my prayer”. The album “I Lampsi” was released in 1992. He was also the creator of the New Democracy anthem.
