Prevention and innovation in treatment are the two main pillars in combating cancer in our country.
Pre-symptomatic screening programs for the most common types of cancer in Greece are advancing, while progress is also being made in personalized therapies that effectively target and treat cancerous tumors.
“By the end of 2025, the Ministry of Health aims to screen all women and men for all forms of cancer preventively,” noted Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 4th Annual Economist Conference on “Greece’s Resolve in Combating Cancer – Achievements, Challenges, and European Reality.”

He added that the Greek government has announced National Action Plan for Cancer twice.
“This is the third time; it needs to become a reality; patients and their families need it,” he said.
