A screwdriver was used to kill 11-year-old Vasiliki by her confessed killer, a forensic report carried out on the girl’s body shows.

The forensic report shows that the killer stabbed the little girl with the screwdriver in her spleen and heart.

At the same time, there were no signs of sexual abuse of the girl. The case filed by the police includes charges of intentional homicide and attempted rape.

She told him “I’m going to tell my parents” and then he chased her and killed her

The 37-year-old admitted to police that before he killed the 11-year-old he tried to have intercourse with her.

According to reports, the suspect allegedly admitted before the police that he wanted to have intercourse with the minor, she refused and when he told him that he would tell her parents, he attacked her with a screwdriver and killed her, causing injuries to her chest and back.

“I suggested that we have intercourse. She reacted and refused. She said she would tell her parents and I killed her with the screwdriver I had in the car,” he allegedly claimed.

Well-informed sources, speaking to protothema.gr, said the child had defensive wounds on her hands. It is therefore concluded that the perpetrator attacked the 11-year-old and she tried to defend herself in any way she could without unfortunately succeeding. After the murder the 37-year-old dragged her body and threw it into the reeds.

He then returned home and went to bed as if nothing had happened, while the next day he went to work as normal and began to pretend that he was anxious about the fate of his niece.

CCTV footage shows the 37-year-old’s dark-coloured car driving along a village road and a few seconds later the unfortunate 11-year-old girl appears at the junction.

The video “gave him away”

Recalled that the countdown to the arrest of the perpetrator began when the police officers of the Security Tower identified video footage, which showed the girl on the day she disappeared, coming out of his house and running into a car that had stopped near his grandfather’s house.

As explained to protothema.gr sources with knowledge of the case, when the police saw this shot they identified the owner of the car and once they found out that the later arrested is known for rape of a minor, they were now sure that they had reached the solution of the mystery.

They pressed the 37-year-old, who finally “cracked” and confessed to carrying the minor to the field and killing her with a screwdriver, but never produced the murder weapon, which is still being sought.

Arrested, yesterday afternoon, in Pyrgos, by policemen of the Subdirectorate of Security Pyrgos, a domestic man, against whom a criminal case was formed for manslaughter with intent and attempted rape.

Specifically, yesterday 10-6-2024 at dawn, was declared to the Security Subdivision of Pyrgos, the disappearance of the 11 year old girl from the area of Myrtia Ilia, where she was last seen on 09-06-2024 in the evening.

Immediately the policemen of the Security Sub-Directorate of Pyrgos with the assistance of the Pyrgos police, began investigations to find the minor, resulting in the collection of material from which the involvement in the case of the accused, who was identified immediately and brought to the Security Sub-Directorate of Pyrgos.

In particular, from the investigation of the police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Pyrgos, it emerged that the accused yesterday 09-06-2024, in the evening, in Myrtia Ilia, received by car the 11 year old girl and transferred her to a rural area in Katarahi Ilia, to meet with her.

When the 11 year old refused to the accused to join, the latter, having homicidal intent, threw her on the ground and hit her, with an object, several times, on her back, ribs and neck, resulting in the manslaughter of the minor. The defendant then dragged the body of the 11-year-old girl for a distance of about 45 meters and hid it next to a drainage ditch, covering it with dry grass.

A check of the details of the arrested person revealed that he has been previously involved in a case of rape and child seduction in the same area (Myrtia, Ilia).

The arrested man will be brought to the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Ilia, while the vehicle he was driving was seized as a means of facilitating the commission of the homicide.
