A tragic traffic accident occurred at noon Friday on the highway Pyrgos-Kyparissia, at the height of Elaia.
According to information, the driver of a dual car heading to Kyparissia lost control, the vehicle “folded”, crossed into the oncoming stream and collided with three passing vehicles, causing the fatal accident.
The same sources say there are several dead, and among them is a mother and her baby.
Authorities immediately rushed to the scene, with ambulances, fire engines and police forces operating to extricate the victims. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The National Road Pyrgos – Kyparissia has been closed and traffic is being diverted via a bypass road through Elaia.
