An accident involving a vehicle falling into a tree, a head-on collision and… a car crash with severe damage to a total of six cars occurred on Tuesday afternoon, New Year’s Eve, in Metamorphosis.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Theotokopoulou and Georgiou Papandreou streets. According to reports, a vehicle moving on Theotokopoulou and heading towards Papandreou, under unclear circumstances, crashed into a tree, it hit three parked cars and a dumpster, and then – the same car – hit another vehicle head-on, while causing damage to two more.
There was panic at the scene as early images suggested there would be injuries, with bystanders alerting authorities. Despite this, it was soon determined that no one was injured, while crews from the Municipality of Metamorphosis rushed to the site to remove the fallen log, as well as cranes to remove the vehicles.
A traffic police vehicle also went to the incident to record the damage caused.
