Robert Pattinson nearly lost his mind over a scene with Zendaya

The 38-year-old actor mentioned that his co-star helped him calm down

Newsroom March 13 10:00

It turns out even Hollywood’s biggest stars can spiral over a single line of dialogue. Robert Pattinson, the 38-year-old actor known for his intense approach to roles, recently admitted that he almost lost his mind while filming a scene with Zendaya for their upcoming romantic dramedy, The Drama.

Robert Pattinson went "crazy for three days" over filming a scene with Zendaya. She then told to stop thinking about its "hidden meaning."

“We had a scene together that was driving me crazy. I was desperately looking for its meaning, writing pages and pages of textual analysis.… pic.twitter.com/FKcZLT1fJ3

In an interview with Premiere magazine, Pattinson revealed that he became obsessed with analyzing a particular scene, convinced that there was some deeper meaning hidden within the lines. “I was going crazy for three days,” he confessed. Determined to crack the code, he scribbled pages of notes, dissecting every word in search of a hidden message.

But in the end, it was Zendaya who brought him back to reality.

Zendaya to the Rescue

Unable to shake his overthinking, Pattinson decided to call his co-star the night before filming. “I talked to Zendaya for two hours, pouring out all my thoughts,” he shared. “And then, very calmly, she told me that the line just meant exactly what it said—there was no secret meaning.”

Laughing about the moment, he added, “And there I was, driving myself insane for three days.”

A Romance with a Twist

While details about The Drama remain under wraps, we do know that Pattinson and Zendaya play a couple whose relationship takes an unexpected turn just before their big day. Directed by Kristoffer Borgli, the film has already sparked major buzz.

The duo was recently spotted filming in Andover, Massachusetts, where cameras captured them laughing between takes. In one scene, they were seen strolling up the grand steps of the Addison Gallery of American Art, which had been transformed into a fictional Cambridge art museum.

With on-screen chemistry and off-screen camaraderie like this, The Drama is shaping up to be a must-watch. And if Zendaya can help Pattinson survive the stress of one scene, we can only imagine the magic they’ll bring to the whole movie!
