Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban has called the U.S. presidency of Donald Trump a “real cultural turning point,” speaking at the international Conservative Political Action Conference.
“We will not drown in a sea of wokeness, we will not be overrun by migrants, Donald Trump has given back [i.e. to the planet] the hope for a normal life and peace,” Orban said in his opening speech in Budapest.
The US president sent a greeting via a video screened at the conference.
In it he praised Orban as a “great man who is highly respected by all. He has done an outstanding job as a leader and is a very special person,” Trump said.
Other speakers at the two-day conference include the leader of Alternative for Germany, Alice Weidel, the head of Austria’s Freedom Party, Herbert Kickle, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fizzo and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobachitze.
