A new celebrity is roaming the streets of Chania – a cat who has become such a local attraction that visitors to Crete are actively seeking him out.

Meet Chonkus Maximus, as dubbed by internet users: a fluffy, white stray cat who grabs the attention of everyone who passes by and has become a social media superstar.

According to zarpanews.gr, many tourists are now on a mission to track down the exact spot where the famous feline lounges, just to snap a photo or shoot a quick video.

Where Can You Find Him?

As noted on Google Maps, Chonkus Maximus is most often seen near Talos Square and Kanari Seafront. Users have even dropped pins marking his usual spot, and he has earned a five-star rating from visitors who’ve had the pleasure of meeting him.

Despite the fame, the cat himself seems entirely unbothered by the attention, continuing to lounge in his favorite spot. He’s also known to be very friendly with anyone who approaches him.
