Nikos Pappas is out of the SYRIZA Eurogroup after the violent incident and the attack on journalist Nikos Giannopoulos in Strasbourg. Nikos Pappas will also be referred to the ethics committee.

SYRIZA reports that Socrates Famellos has suspended Nikos Pappas from the SYRIZA-PS Eurogroup for his unacceptable behavior.

At the same time, he immediately requests the ethics committee to remove him from SYRIZA-PS.

It is noted that the head of SYRIZA’s delegation in the European Parliament, Kostas Arvanitis, summoned Nikos Pappas on Wednesday morning (17/12) to provide explanations and subsequently informed Sokratis Famellos of the incident. At the same time, according to information, developments are also expected within the Left group in the European Parliament, to which SYRIZA belongs.
