US authorities today announced restrictions on “drone” flights over critical infrastructure in the state of New Jersey, where sightings of UAPs have monopolized the news and caused concern since late November.

“At the request of federal partners charged with safety, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued 22 temporary flight restrictions prohibiting drone flights over sensitive infrastructure in New Jersey,” a press release said. The restrictions will be in effect until Jan. 17, according to the FAA’s website, which does not explain the timeline.

“There is no threat to public safety related to the drone sighting incidents recorded,” the Department of Homeland Security reiterated today.

This FAA decision is being implemented proactively after “necessary infrastructure partners (…) requested that temporary flight restrictions be imposed over their facilities,” the department clarified in a press release, without naming the facilities in question.

These “drones”, which have been spotted for weeks in the northeastern part of the country, have raised concerns among residents about possible foreign interference or possible alien activity and led to accusations of a cover-up by the US government. Authorities, including the Pentagon and the US federal police, have stepped up announcements and interventions to calm fears.

There were widespread rumors that the activity of the UAPs was connected with a level-3 nuclear cargo that went missing in New Jersey port at the beginning of the month. However, the competent US government authority stated that the missing cargo was found adding that it does not use drones of any kind for such incidents.

Also, the presence of HAZMAT (Hazardous Material) units, specialized in containing contamination by hazardous material and decontaminating, also alarmed the residents of the area especially as there have been reports and footage of “drones” crashing in the wider region.

Videos of mysterious aerial phenomena continue to circulate with sightings reported in the states of New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia and spreading slowly to other US states as well.
