See detailed frequency schedules for Metro and Tram routes – Pilot bus service includes 9 additional lines

Newsroom July 2 04:30

Athens will operate on a 24-hour public transport schedule for the first time on Saturday, July 5.

In its announcement, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport stated that OASA is launching a pilot program for 24-hour service on Metro Lines 2 and 3, Tram Lines T6 and T7, and 9 selected bus routes that cover key areas in the Attica basin.

“This initiative enhances the overall commuting experience in the city, providing a safe and reliable option for the public at all hours of the day. It also marks a significant step toward upgrading urban transit services and boosting Athens’ international profile,” the ministry noted.

In a later phase, the trial implementation will be evaluated based on operational and quality data collected.

“The contribution of the employees in this effort is of key importance, as they support the 24-hour pilot operation of urban transit with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism, meeting the day’s increased operational demands,” the announcement adds.
