The fire started in the Belek region, where amateur videos captured dramatic scenes of nighttime hotel evacuations, with tourists being escorted away under the threat of the flames. The evacuation order was issued as gale-force winds fueled the fire, which quickly advanced toward tourist facilities.

Turkish media reported that another blaze ignited between the areas of Kundu and Belek, adding a new front to a chain of devastating wildfires that have been hitting Antalya province in recent days.

According to the local news outlet Antalya Hakkında, the wildfire threatened areas with strawberry greenhouses before moving toward the Mediterranean coast, raising the danger for tourist infrastructure and seaside residences.

The battle against the flames has turned into a marathon effort, with 800 firefighters, 14 aircraft, and 20 helicopters engaged in operations. Shifting wind patterns continue to complicate firefighting efforts, making the fire’s path unpredictable.

Local authorities remain on high alert, as evacuations of tourist resorts and homes continue, aiming to safeguard both residents and visitors in the wider Antalya region.
