The Hellenic Red Cross (HRC) is deploying a 14-member volunteer mission to the earthquake-stricken areas of Venezuela, following a thorough assessment of conditions on the ground and in close coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
The HRC will send two teams of Samaritan-Rescuer volunteers to assist in both search-and-rescue operations in collapsed buildings and the provision of medical and humanitarian assistance to affected residents.
As Greece’s leading humanitarian and volunteer organization, the Hellenic Red Cross said each team will consist of seven highly trained volunteers equipped with specialized rescue equipment—including cutting tools, rescue ropes, drones, and other emergency gear—as well as HRC K9 search-and-rescue dogs.
Working alongside volunteers from the Venezuelan Red Cross, the Greek teams will participate in urban search-and-rescue operations, provide first aid, and deliver humanitarian support to communities impacted by the deadly earthquake.
