“I feel sorry for the little boy who was lost, I feel sorry for his parents because they are in the same position as me but in a worse position.” “The case is now with a lawyer,” he pointed out.
How the car crash happened
The accident occurred shortly after 7am on Sunday when the driver of the private car, in which four other persons, the passenger, a 15-year-old boy and two girls, were travelling on Iasmos Road, heading towards Phili, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve.
The car followed a “crazy” course and at breakneck speed hit first the curb then an olive tree and ended up overturned in a nearby field.
The scene of the tragedy resembled a bombed-out landscape from the violent impact while the IX was transformed into a shapeless mass of iron.
A 15-year-old boy who was reportedly sitting in the back seat was recovered from it and died instantly while the other three occupants were injured.
