A video on TikTok of a meal eaten at a Greek tavern by Turkish tiktoker, Hakan Ozturk, has sparked a flurry of comments.
In the video, Ozturk describes paying 22.5 euros for a village salad, a portion of zucchini, a portion of anchovies and ouzo.
“What do you think about food prices in Greece?” asked Turkish tiktoker in his video, and the comments followed in rain from his compatriots.
“It doesn’t seem right to me to give our money to the Greeks”, “if you want it to be free…it doesn’t taste the same as the food in Turkey”, “22.5 euros is not cheap”, “the fish you ate was one of the cheapest”, “it’s a matter of choice, I wouldn’t buy it and I wouldn’t want to give them that money” were some of the critical comments about Ozturk.
At the same time, however, there were no shortage of people who criticized the economic situation in Turkey, writing that “once in Turkey it used to be cheaper but now prices have tripled.”
There were also several Greeks who congratulated him on his choice to visit our country instead of a holiday in Turkey and wished him “have a good time”.
