The car used by the perpetrators who robbed a bank in Kato Tithorea on Monday morning (11/5) was found intact in Zemenos, Viotia.
According to testimonies, the three armed perpetrators who struck at 10 a.m. remained inside the branch for almost half an hour, waiting for the safe to open.
The robbers, who had their faces covered (one was wearing a hat, a mask, and a checkered shirt) and were carrying heavy weapons, entered the bank shortly after it opened.
The perpetrators reportedly moved calmly and in an organized manner, showing that they knew exactly the security procedures.
According to the same information, they waited about 30 minutes until the time-delay mechanism for opening the safe was completed. When they finally gained access to the money, they grabbed an amount that, according to estimates, exceeds 200,000 euros, and then disappeared using the getaway vehicle. Reports indicate they fled toward Mount Parnassus via Amfikleia.
A large-scale operation by the Hellenic Police is underway to locate them, with searches focusing on the wider Parnassus area and the escape routes they likely used after the robbery.
