Today’s weather will feature cloudiness, local rain showers, increased concentrations of African dust, and strong southerly winds, while from the beginning of next week temperatures are expected to rise again, bringing highs of even 32–33°C in some areas.
The low-pressure system will move further east and the weather will gradually improve. The unsettled conditions will quickly become confined to eastern areas, while in northern Greece only limited instability will remain, with local showers mainly in mountainous regions during the afternoon hours.
Temperatures will begin rising again, reaching 27–28°C on Saturday in southern areas, while in Crete, the Dodecanese, and southern Peloponnese temperatures could even hit 30°C.
On Sunday, the weather will generally be clear with plenty of sunshine, a few temporary clouds, and only a slight chance of local showers in the mountainous parts of central and northern Greece.
The new rise in temperature will peak on Tuesday, when the mercury is expected to exceed 30°C, while in eastern mainland regions it could even reach 32–33°C, creating fully summer-like conditions.
